Резултатите от националното проучване „Мениджмънт и лидерство“ бяха представени в Софийския университет.

The results of the national survey on „Management and Leadership“, conducted as part of the National Program for Continuing Qualification of Pedagogical Specialists, were presented and discussed at a round table in the meeting room 1 at the Rectorate of Sofia University „St. Kliment Ohridski“. This was reported by the university’s press center.

The study was carried out by a team from the Faculty of Pedagogy, commissioned by the Ministry of Education and Science, as part of the monitoring of the national program.

The event was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Pedagogy, Assoc. Prof. Vanya Bozhilova, Deputy Minister of Education and Science Marieta Georgieva, representatives of the „Qualification and Career Development“ Directorate at the Ministry of Education and Science, the National Center for Continuing Qualification of Pedagogical Specialists in Bankya, the Union of School Principals in Bulgaria, representatives of the Regional Education Directorates, school principals, and others.

Assoc. Prof. Vanya Bozhilova thanked her colleagues for the opportunity to be together at this key event and stated that it is important for all of them, as different parties, to ensure that the qualification of teachers – both initial and subsequent – is at a high level of quality, backed by real results. The Dean added that this is a leading trend in recent years for all programs created for training within the university, as well as for all other structural units involved in this process.

Marieta Georgieva, Deputy Minister of Education and Science, expressed her joy that at this event they can truly see and discuss the topic of teacher qualification. She emphasized that this is a leading topic in the policies being developed, especially in this academic year. She added that a very large group is working on this topic and already has its main views and ideas to be implemented. However, changes in the Law on Pre-school and School Education are also necessary for this purpose, said Deputy Minister Georgieva.

„In this regard, we have commissioned two different perspectives on the national qualification program to be able to see and gather external opinions on what is happening in our qualification system. And based on these general observations and conclusions, we will develop ideas for the next steps,“ said Marieta Georgieva.

She stated that her hopes for this meeting are very serious. It is indeed important for teachers in Bulgarian education to be at the highest possible level, to be provided with the best conditions for their qualification and personal development, because the results of our children primarily depend on them, emphasized Deputy Minister Georgieva.

Petya Yordanova, a member of the Board of Directors of the Union of Employers in the System of Public Education, also greeted the attendees and stated that this is the right path to create an environment in which pedagogical specialists can develop.

Assoc. Prof. Yonka Parvanova, a lecturer at the Faculty of Pedagogy and the leader of the team that conducted the study, thanked everyone for their active work and introduced her colleagues who worked on the research – Prof. Silvia Nikolaeva and Assoc. Prof. Rositsa Simeonova.

The team from the Faculty of Pedagogy briefly presented the main findings and recommendations from the conducted study on „Management and Leadership“ in relation to the training conducted as part of the National Program for Continuing Qualification of Pedagogical Specialists, 2023.
